Tubing!

The weather was absolutely beautiful yesterday, so we decided to take the family and go tubing on Mt. Hood. Little John Snow Park is one of our favorite place on the mountain (next to Trillium Lake!). We had a pretty drive up (and back) with no snow or ice on the roads. Yeah! No chains needed! We were nervous that the park would be very crowded because the weather was so nice AND it was Saturday. But, luckily the parking lot was many 1/3 the way full! Once we got out of the van, we realized it was warmer than we expected...so...no hats or coats for some and gloves didn't stay on long for others. The kids loved playing in the snow. Alex and Natalie were ALL about going down the hills. Alex loved going down the BIG hill and would have spent all his time there except he had to have an adult with him. Natalie let out her adventurous side and kept wanting to go down the hill again and again and again by herself (after a few times down with a parent). She even HAD to get on the tube by herself...no help needed/wanted. Hayden on the otherhand tubed a little bit but preferred to work on his snow fort (with some help from Dave and sibs). After a lunch of chili dogs, chips and hot chocolate, it was back to the SNOW.

We ended up "playing" longer than expected because the weather was so nice and the kids were all having a great time. It's so nice being able to go TO the snow and enjoy it without having to live IN it!
