Yesterday we received a new addition to our family...Tim aka green caterpillar. While playing outside, Hayden encountered the "cutest caterpillar" and decided he needed it for a pet. So, after begging for a jar, Hayden made a home for Tim. He of course added the usual...grass, leaves, sticks, and rocks to the jar. Hayden even made a "potty spot" for Tim under one of the leaves so Tim could have some privacy. Needless to say, our day consisted of hearing about Tim...how he needed more leaves, wanted fresh air, needed a BIGGER jar, wanted to take a bath because he was dirty and on and on and on. During the prayer for lunch, Hayden prayed that Heavenly Father would help Tim grow up to be strong and that he would turn into a butterfly quickly. As the day went on, Hayden grew very concerned that Tim was not eating enough. He had in his mind that Tim should be as hungry as the "Hungry Caterpillar" in Eric Carles book. Hayden was also very concerned about leaving Tim alone because he could get lost, hurt, stolen, or even killed. While on the way home from Wal-mart, we all the sudden heard a loud scream from the back of the van. Hayden realized that Tim was home alone!!! AUUGGGHH!!! When we arrived back at our house, Hayden quickly ran in to check on Tim. Luckily he was okay. We'll see how long that lasts....(I think you know what I mean.)
