Dave and I had a fabulous time in St. Maarten. The best thing we did was beach hop. The island is known for having great beaches...and it did! We visited beaches both on the French and Dutch side of the island. We loved Guana Bay Beach. It was a smaller beach but beautiful and there was hardly anyone there! And the surf was lots of fun to play in. We also loved Cupecoy Beach. It's surrounded by cliffs which makes it more unique than the other beaches.

We went back to Cupecoy later in the day for the sunset! Beautiful!
We also enjoyed the beach at our resort, Simpson Bay Beach. But our favorite beach was in Anguilla. We took a ferry from Marigot (on the French side) and then once we got the the island of Anguilla we took a taxi to Shoal Bay which is known as one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. And it was gorgeous (pictures don't do it justice) and not too crowded! We hung there for the day and ate a yummy b-bque at Uncle Ernies. YUMMY!

Another beach we went to was Sunset Beach. Now this beach is not known for the "beach". Instead it is known for the planes that fly overhead. Right across from the beach is the new airport. Let's just say that when a plane lands or takes off (especially the larger ones) people are knocked over, sand feels like hail falling and waves are created!

What an experience to lay on the beach and have a plane fly right over you! Anyway, we LOVED the beaches in St. Maarten and wish that we were still laying in the sun on the sand reading our books, watching the ocean and listening to our iPods!

I'm thinking we should add St. Maarten's to our "visit" list! It sounds wonderful!
