Easter

Easter was lots of fun this year. On Saturday night, Dave and I helped the kids decorate their eggs...which of course they loved. They actually experimented with striping their eggs which required much patience (for them).

The dying process...Natalie was too focused to look up for the picture.

The end result!

The next day was Easter Sunday. The Easter bunny always leaves a coded message that the kids have to decipher before they can find their baskets. The code led them to a locked tool box, where they then had to use another code to figure out the combination of the lock. The tool box held a map that they then had to follow to find their baskets which were hidden by the Sequoia. All 3 kids did a great job working together to find their baskets.

The spoils of the hunt! Yummy!
After church the kids dove into their basket some more and then they received an extra special Easter treat from Grandma Sharrid and Grandpa Jim- Webkins! Normally our kids do not play on the computer on Sunday, but we made an exception this time so that they could register their new pet and earn some fun things for their pets' rooms.

Meet (from left to right) "Milky Way", "Fluffy", and "Stinky".
a.k.a. Jersey Cow, Baby Lamb, and a Skunk.
Later that day we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt! Due to the rainy weather, we had it downstairs. Bummer! But, I still LOVE watching the kids run like mad looking for eggs!

More "spoils", which means more sugar, which means more kid energy! (Why do we do this???)
Later that day my mom and I tried to dye our eggs using silk ties. My mom found the idea off of a website and my sister's tried it and enjoyed it so we thought we'd give it a go.

The end result...They were cute but I think we have a few kinks to work out for next year.

We had a fabulous, full of fun Easter this year. Love the memories!
