Salt Lake City Trip

At the end of July, we carted our family down to Salt Lake City. Dave had to attend a convention there for Papa Murphy's and he thought it would be fun for all of us to go. So after a 12 hour drive through the night, we arrived in Utah.
Our first stop was to see Dave's grandparents. His Grandpa Syphus suffers from Alheimers. It was amazing to see how much he has deteriorated since we visited last summer. Ir reminds me a lot of my grandma several months before she passed away. Anyway, we had a pleasant visit with them. At lunch time we went and checked-in at the hotel, Dave started work, and the kids and I went and swam in the pool!
When Dave was done for the day, we took the train up to see Temple Square. I am always amazed at the size of the Salt Lake Temple. After walking around Temple Square, we headed over to the BIG Conference Center. I was amazed at how massive it was inside.

The next day, we met up with Dave's mom and went to BYU. I could spend hours in their bookstore. We got the family re-equipped with BYU gear, had ice cream at the BYU Creamery and drove around campus reminising.
Afterward, we drove down to Spanish Fork to visit Dave's sister Robyn and her kids. And then we all met up with Laura and Ethan for dinner at Chilis. Let's just say that 6 kids at a table with no adults = craziness!
The next day we spent at the hotel's pool, 5 hours of sun and water!

This is Hayden "imagining". He was adament that I take this picture!

That evening we had a big family b-bque organized by Dave's mom. Some of Dave's aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, sisters and their families came. We had yummy food, chatted for a while and the kids played "No bears are out tonight" and "Red Light, Green Light".

"Red light, green light GOOOOO!"
Saturday was also lots of fun. We got together with Dave's parents, Robyn and her family, Laura and Ethan and Janet and Dani for a day at Boondocks. At Boondocks the kids enjoyed the go-carts, bumper boats-that you can squirt (I was ganged up on!), Laser Tag (a must do again!), the arcade and miniature golf.

Nat throwing a 2 year old temper trantrum...for about an hour! FUN!

No Mercy Hayden!

We had a great 5 days in Utah! Getting together with family is the BEST!

looks like so much fun. It's always great to make the trip to the "motherland." I was sad we didn't make it this year.
